Crackdown (Garrett & Shadow) « Thread Started on Sept 11, 2009, 7:23pm »
It was a familiar setup, one that Garrett saw all the time in his dealings with the Russian Mafia. Fancy hotel, the floor number of their penthouse, and armed thugs trying to discreetly watch the place. Trying.
Garrett slid the manhole cover silently off, and climbed out of the sewer. In the dim half-light, his image rippled like a reflection in a pond, then he disappeared. The manhole cover slid back into place, and he crept over to the corner of the alley. There were seven guards in the parking lot, this wouldn't be easy. He knocked over some trashcans to get their attention, and then wedged himself between the buildings and worked his way up until he was stretched across the alley ten feet up. These guys were cautious. Two men, back-to-back. Garrett dropped down next to them, and they turned when they heard the noise, but saw nothing. Satisfied that nobody was there, they turned and went back towards the parking lot. Garrett grabbed the one who was trailing behind, covering his mouth. All the other one heard was a crack. When he turned around, his friend was slumped over in the shadows. He ran over to check on him, and Garrett slipped around behind the other gangster. Another crunch came from the alley.
Shadows more and more shadows, was that how he got his name cause he ran in the shadows or was it from his shady history, what ever the reason Shadow didn't care how his name came to be. Streaking threw the night the black blur darting at a speed matching the great Flash himself Shadow slide to a stop at a aback alley. The tip he had gotten from his Contact was that the man that was putting the new Arian drug on the street was in town and with the Russian. The Russian a guy who Batman himself had tried to take down but some how got away. Shadow didn't dought the Bat's abilities the Russian was just good to good made him wonder if there was more to the Russian or if there was some one near the man who knew some thing he didn't, "Right me no know some thing I dought it."
Walking slowly to the end of the alley he was just in time to see two mean enter the alley opposite his own. Smiling he pulled out his guns and checked them, "Hmm guess i could just do this the fun way." Sliding them back in there holsters he pooped his knuckles, "No reason to waste good b bullets on creeps that don't have powers of there own." Taking a step he was once more a blur as the first of the seven started to fall then the second then third, by the end all seven fell at the same time there weapons taken apart and a nice red mark on there face were his fist had meet them. Shadow smirked as he turned to look at the building, hearing a noise behind him he smiled as he keep looking forward, "Took you long enough."
OOC: I thought it was agreed that the characters didn't know each other, and just happened on each other for this.
Garrett heard the noise from the parking lot, and looked up just in time to see the mobsters fall to the ground. Somebody had invited himself to this party. Another one of those naive superheroes, if the disassembled guns were any indication. There was a faint ripple visible in the air as he walked out of the alley, remaining invisible. One by one, he went to all of the bodies and, without showing himself, snapped their necks. With this work finished, he fumbled through a dead gangster's pocket, pulled out a cigarette, and lit it. At first, all that could be seen was the glow of the cherry, then Garrett appeared in front of the stranger, a cloud of smoke rising from his shoulders as the invisibility faded away.
"So, you've got a problem with Konstantin too?" Garrett said, sizing up the stranger. This guy was fast, maybe even faster than Bruno, bu he was still human, or close to it. The Nosferatu grinned at him, showing his shark-like teeth. He loved human's reactions to him. "Somethin we 'ave in common. Care to join in the fun?"
