The world we know, is a lie.
Everything we dream of, read about watch and listen to in our spare time about the world of make-believe, is real...
Vampires and Werewolfs? Check...
Angels and Demons? very, very real.
Wizards and Witches? They are among us.
Super Heroes and Villains? You might just live next door to one.
The truth is, this world is a far darker and more dangerous place than most would like to admit, but it is also a place filled with endless hope, and the center of the world is of course, New York City.
Almost everything comes here, starts here, or ends right here, and the second wave of the recession is no different...
The beginning started over ten years ago, a global recession that rose and fell, rapidly, starting with the United States, and then swept across the globe, Leaders of Earths largest, and most powerful nations, gathered, time and again, they spent money, resources, and time, trying to "save the world" with its interlocked economy, and for a season, it seemed they had triumphed...
But now, a decade later, with the implosion of the worlds economies, the world finds itself in what is called humanity's greatest struggle, the second second dark-age...
It is a time of great struggle, and revelation; the beings we thought where only confined to books, movies and lore, are suddenly revealing that, yes, they are VERY real, and they are quite powerful.
Events begin spiral into a state likened to tales of knights and dragons, fairy-tale's come true, as the very fabric of society begins to unravel...
And at the center of it all, New York is now in it's most tumultuous of times, as the upper levels of society disintegrate into a shadow of what they once where, the poor and homeless now trapped as the middle class fights to exist, and the upper class slides slowly into a divide between the good people of influence, means, and generosity and the people of secrecy, greed and subversion, an underground battle between the wills of men and women fighting for two very different outcomes...
Across the countries of the world, Gangs are rising, new tribes earthlings are forming, some, are Human, some Mutant, others Mystic, and still others, Alien, and there are even those that are formed of all the races of earth, but all have but one purpose: to survive, and rise in power and provision for its members...
Welcome to the post modern world humanity, welcome to the gangs of New York...
