Near Death [Open] « Thread Started on Jun 10, 2009, 1:02am »
Teraj, get down! Cowboy howled to the young male, who shuddered fearfully on the three story roof, hidden behind Sean. They had been hunted and chased for days now. Teraj was at his peek of sanity, and Cowboy was exhausted of his powers, after teleporting the two for hours and days without rest. There was barely any hope for an escape. Teraj was a beacon for the dead and now Cowboy was too weak to use any of his powers to defend them, so all hope from this point, seemed lost.
"Poor little Teraj. You thought you got rid of me huh? Well, your body is mine!" Ethan, Teraj's old friend, who had finally earned himself a body, cackled and howled madly to the sky.
Yes! Kill them! Kill them!!
"Yes! I no longer need you Teraj to keep my entity alive. Now that I have a new body! AHAHAHA!" The pair of large guns flipped from behind his back in their holsters right in front of him. "Sayanora!!!" A spray of bullets began to peg and stream at the two helpless men.
Not yet! With a wave of his hand, Cowboy slowed the bullets within seconds of impact. Teraj was in complete terror and frozen where he was. He was the only one capable of attack, but with is frightened persona, there was no way he could attack the friend he thought that was with him from the beginning, and now with a new body.
With Cowboy's last ounce of strength, he picked up Teraj into his arms and ran for the edge of the building to escape. Almost there! He hollered, as he ran, he lost his black Cowboy hat to the wind. He reached the edge of the roof, but suddenly, time no longer was stopped.
Cowboy felt every pellet crash into his bones, every bullet pierce a organ in his insides. His grip with Teraj grew weak and before long, the young boy was lost and he plummeted to the bottom of the alley, crashing into the hard cement. Cowboy crashed into the edge was saved from suffering the same fate, however his green eyes gaped in horror at the sight. "Teraj...? No...! No...! N-"A hand crashed into his body and protruded through the other side, body and organs lathering the vampire's hand. Cowboy shuddered and blood split from his lips. Ethan smiled villainously, vampiric teeth poking on each side of his gums.
"Nice try Cowboy, but you've lost!" Grabbing each limb, he pulled each one violently out of place, the loudest crack coming from the old man's bones. Cowboy moaned and yelled loudly, blood escaping even more from his throat and all over. His body leaked the red substance and he could do nothing. Ethan then pulled from the man's body, being sure to twist and grab at anything which zipped passed, and before long Cowboy tumbled to the ground, left their to wallow and die.
"Tah-Tah Sean! Say hello to Nathalie for me..." And he disappeared into the building exterior, floating away like a ghost of the past.
---
Now, even still, Cowboy lay along the floor of the roof, tattered and dying. He tried for two nights to lift his arms from the ground, but it was no use. There was no way that he could kill himself before these wounds would truly kill him.
This.. is the... bad thing... about not being completely immortal. The payment that comes with staying alive forever. I have to... kill myself with my own hand before the wounds of the other kills me first. Funny, this actually wasn't how I was supposed to die. Teraj wasn't even supposed to meet with me. But Ethan's new body changed everything. That Allenhart fellow disrupts the flow of time more than he realizes. However, there is nothing I can do now... I guess it may really be my time. My time to see Nathalie again...
He paused.
"Teraj...!" His pitiful yell caused a great deal of stress and energy, and his body was beginning to falter more quickly to death. I have to... save him...! He crawled helplessly to the edge of the roof, for he had been dragged a bit of distance by Ethan. He crawled, and crawled and crawled, but the distance didn't seem to grow any shorter.
"I must keep him alive... for... Nathalie!"
(I have the permission to play as Ethan and Teraj, Shadis' character, since both character's are also mine.)

A lovely voice pierced the silence, humming quite merrily. It sounded like the tinkling of delicate bells, though the siren singing was anything but delicate. This voice belonged to the cruel and malicious harlequin sidekick of Mimic, Dahlia. Dolly. Currently, she was venturing away from her lover at the moment in favor of causing her own terror. She raised a brow at the scream, craning her head upwards at the sound.
"Teraj...!"
Aha. "And I was just about to give up." Dahlia's small hint of a smile curled up into a large cheshire cat-like smirk. The redheaded jester quietly headed up to the rooftop, though it was hard to stay silent with her outfit giving her away as it jingled with every swing of her hips and tilt of her head. To be safe, the woman used her intangibility as she continued up. She couldn't have anyone getting to her before she could get to them.
As she reached the top, she looked around with a raised brow, scanning the area until she quickly found the tattered and torn man attempting to crawl to the edge. She crossed her arms as she became tangible yet again, looking at the man with an extremely dull look upon her face. She heaved a small sigh as she calmly walked over to the other, arms still crossed. However, she tilted her head in curiousity as she grew near.

Cowboy laid their in absolute pain, however the sound of bells became like a fearful music to his ears. Who was coming, what was to happen? There was no way for him to save himself of whatever was to come. He couldn't even lift a hand because the bones were so badly broken. He had tried, but nothing had ushered. His body had already been weak that night before, so it was obvious there was no chance of him using his powers now.
Then, it stopped. No, that noise, it hadn't stopped completely. It was very faint, however the man in the bloody black duster could sense that someone was coming closer to where he lay. "Who's... there...!?" He called out forcefully, but his body couldn't take the exertion, so he hacked and blood cascaded like a waterfall from his mouth. "Show... yourself...?!"
Maybe he was going crazy? Maybe he had been hearing things. It is quite possible that he was nearing even farther than he ever had with death, and that this hallucinating of noises and sounds was a symptom of his body almost passing. Am I really to die today...? He thought. Allenhart has destroyed so much of my intended for my future, so now it has been rewritten... am I really to die now, now of all times.
I had reformed a little friendship with Teraj, just as my daughter wanted, but at the moment, its not enough to make him a stronger person. I left too late. I was supposed to help him, and I was to die later, not now... not so soon...

Well, this was definitely going to be a bore. She probably would've had more fun if she'd gone out hunting in the city, maybe even with her own partner in crime. But, though she was mostly unknown, she had to maintain the reputation she held in her head. She wasn't about to become the door mat, lovesick puppy that she'd seen in the actual Harleen Quinzel.
The doll needed her independence and it didn't seem like Mimic was ready to argue with that just yet. Though, since he was as maniacal and unstable as the Joker, she was sure it would come up soon. Even more quickly if Mimic was able to find more recruits, he would most likely want to demonstrate his dominance but Dahlia wasn't going to take that.
Luckily, for now it was just the two of them, so it didn't seem to be a problem just yet. "Now, now, no need to fuss. I've no need to hide." Dahlia rolled her eyes, hiding wasn't exactly quite her style. Sure, she fought dirty. Extremely dirty. But why hide against someone who couldn't even fight back? A complete waste of built up adrenaline. "You're quite the mess, aren't you?" Dahlia asked, rhetorically of course.
